Business Revitalization/Bankruptcy

As a result of Japan's recent social conditions as well as developments related to laws regarding business revitalization and bankruptcy, the handling of ebusiness revitalization through the collaborative work of various professionals has become increasingly important. Our attorneys have a great deal of experience and expertise with respect to business revitalization, and are well-versed in all aspects thereof, including bankruptcy, special liquidation, civil rehabilitation, corporate rehabilitation, as well as designated proceedings, including the utilization of the Business Reconstruction ADR Procedures, Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corporation of Japan (ETIC), Small and Medium Size Business Rehabilitation Support Co-operative, Guidelines for guidelines for out-of-court workouts, special mediation procedures, and other relevant measures.
Some of our more prominent corporate reorganization and restructuring cases have involved Maruko (corporate rehabilitation), Setouchi Country (corporate reorganization and corporate rehabilitation), Muramoto Kensetsu (corporate rehabilitation), Hotel Kawakyu (corporate rehabilitation), Toshoku (corporate rehabilitation), KSK Card (corporate rehabilitation), Kofuku Bank (placement of operation and property under the control of a financial receiver), Phoenix Resorts (corporate rehabilitation), Dainippon Construction and its affiliated golf courses (civil rehabilitation), Nihon Kokudo Kaihatsu (corporate rehabilitation), Footwork Express (corporate rehabilitation), Third Sector Reconstruction for Osaka City including ATC, WTC, MDC (special mediation and corporate rehabilitation), Hotel Koganoi (corporate rehabilitation), and corporate rehabilitation and civil rehabilitation cases involving many other golf courses. In addition, our firm has extensive experience with respect to cross-border business revitalization and bankruptcy, such as cases involving Japanese corporations which have entered into business revitalization and bankruptcy proceedings abroad (for example, filing Chapter 11 in the United States, closure of subsidiaries, and/or responding to customers and creditors).
