Overview
Daisuke Yamaguchi served as a judge and presided over civil, administrative and criminal cases until March 2023, before joining the firm at its Fukuoka office in April 2023. During his time as a judge, Mr. Yamaguchi handled general civil cases including claims for damages, administrative cases in which the national government or local governments were the defendants, and intellectual property cases such as trials concerning trademark rights or the Unfair Competition Prevention Act. With respect to criminal cases, Mr. Yamaguchi experienced working with lay judges in trials. Since joining the firm, he has been extensively involved in M&A matters, civil rehabilitation procedures, squeeze-out procedures, and general corporate legal matters.
While practicing as an attorney, Mr. Yamaguchi has come to realize even more strongly that no two cases or consultations are alike. Even for consultations of the same type, the desired solutions differ by necessity depending on what the client places importance on and the background and situation of the case. Mr. Yamaguchi carries out his duties each day with the belief that he will be able to provide optimal legal services to his clients by sincerely listening to them, utilizing the knowledge and experience he has accumulated, and doing his utmost to find a solution for the client.
