At Kitahama, in conjunction with the recent rise in acquisitions of overseas corporations by Japanese corporations, we handle many outbound cases for European, American and Asian countries. We have also built a strong track record in inbound M&A transactions where overseas corporations or investors make investments in Japan.
We are engaged on a daily basis in the preparation of English agreements used for cross-border M&A, as well as in English-language negotiations informed by legal practice in other countries. In addition, the execution of cross-border M&A requires that we cooperate appropriately with local attorneys overseas, and we have built a rich network with law firms in various countries, which allows us to provide advice that is tailored to the needs of our clients informed by an understanding of the legal systems, customs, and cultural differences characterizing those countries.
