Employment & Labor Issues

Given the labor-intensive nature of the nursing care business, appropriate human resource management is key to sound business operations.

In reality, however, there have been disputes over overtime pay due to inadequate management of working hours and the fact that employees are treated as managers even though they do not legally fall under the category of managers and supervisors. There is also the occasional case of problems between employees as well as between residents/consumers and staff.

In order to respond appropriately to such issues, an accurate knowledge of employment and labor laws is essential, along with an understanding of the business of nursing care services. We have attorneys who are well versed in all of these fields at our offices in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka, enabling us to provide timely and accurate advice.
