Overview
Kazuya Yamakawa’s motto is to perform legal work with “high expertise, flexibility, and speed.” Since joining the firm, Mr. Yamakawa has handled a wide variety of matters including mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, drafting and reviewing contracts, and handling closings of transactions. He also focuses on negotiations, litigation, and other dispute resolution cases.
In addition, through regular interaction with overseas law firms, Mr. Yamakawa keeps up to date with legal trends in foreign countries. Taking advantage of his experience living abroad, Mr. Yamakawa regularly engages with international clients. Some of his notable recent cases include handling cross-border mergers and acquisitions, drafting opinions regarding IPOs of Chinese companies, and representing foreign creditors in bankruptcy proceedings in Japan. Mr. Yamakawa also handles a wide range of other work, including providing legal advice regarding corporate matters such as reviewing contracts, reviewing documents relating to public finance initiatives for food service centers, and preparing documents for tender offers and for international commercial transactions. Mr. Yamakawa is committed to being a lawyer who carefully responds to each and every client request.
