Overview

One of Ryo Taniguchi’s greatest strengths is his ability to dedicate himself to a task andsee it through to the end – a strength he cultivated playing water polo for 10 years from junior high school through university. With dedication and perseverance, Mr. Taniguchi strives to meet each client’s needs by providing complete and thorough legal work.

Since joining the firm, he has been involved in a wide range of matters across numerousfields, including daily corporate legal consultations, litigation and dispute cases (including litigation relating to human resources and labor-related affairs, real estatematters, and crypto asset-related matters), M&A transactions, corporate matters, human resources and labor-related affairs, matters concerning financial regulation, and investigations of corporate impropriety, as well as general civil affairs and criminal cases.

Particularly in the field of mergers and acquisitions, he has directly handled theprivatization of listed companies, corporate restructuring, legal due diligence assessments in connection with mergers and acquisitions for unlisted companies, and the drafting and reviewing of contracts such as share transfer agreements. Furthermore, in the fields of human resources and labor-related affairs, in addition to various daily consultations, he has directly handled negotiation cases related to claims for overtime pay, claims for damages related to industrial accidents involving employees, andprovided support for liaising with many district Labour Standards Inspection Offices. In relation to financial regulation, he has also directly handled consultations regarding the Payment Services Act, the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, etc.
