Overview
Takashi Komatsubara handles general corporate legal matters. In particular, he specializes in the field of competition law such as antitrust law, subcontracting law (the Act on Ensuring Proper Transactions Involving Small and Medium Business Operators (tentative translation)) , and the Act Against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Presentations (i.e. responding to investigations by a public authority as an agent of the company, conducting internal investigations, and providing support concerning the filing procedures in M&A cases, etc.), as well as handling M&A cases.
With respect to the field of competition law, Mr. Komatsubara is able to provide practical advice and solutions based on his in-depth knowledge of the practices of a regulatory authority, such as the Japan Fair Trade Commission, gained from his experience working as a fixed-term official in the Investigation Bureau of such agency, and being involved in investigations such as administrative investigations and dispositions, including on-site inspections of bid rigging, investigations into cartels, and other violations of the Act on Prohibition of Private Monopolization and Maintenance of Fair Trade, as well as litigation-related services.
