Overview

Daisuke Wakai is a Partner handling client matters in the area of competition law, including anti-monopoly law. Utilizing his working experience at the Mergers and Acquisitions Division of the Japan Fair Trade Commission, Mr. Wakai has mainly provided advice and notification support regarding merger and acquisition review under Japanese anti-monopoly law. Moreover, he has been providing advice on the use of the applicable leniency policy in anti-monopoly law cases as well as anti-monopoly law compliance in daily transactions, and has been working on restrictions under the Subcontract Act, the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations, and other laws. His clients are from a wide range of industries, such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and trading. In addition, he has been engaged in a wide range of advisory services relating to personal data protection law, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Personal Information Protection Law in Japan.
